My friend Matthieu Berthault and I love cycling. A lot.
But we believed that the industry is a little bit too performance-obsessed.
So we decided to create Les Rookies.
A place to share our thoughts, ideas, rides and findings, but also our fails, mistakes and unexpected clusterfucks.
We wanted to create a community gathering rookie and experimented cyclists around beautiful human adventures.
No competition. No performance. No racing. No judging.
Just the simple pleasure of enjoying a bike ride.
“Urban cycling for beginners”
We launched the website and our social platforms in May 2020, in the middle of the Coronavirus crisis.
Convinced that the bicycle is the vehicle of the future, we wanted to encourage people to start cycling in this very particular context. So our first piece of content was a free guide : “Urban cycling for beginners”. Available in english and in french, the guide has been massively shared online, dragging the attention of media and brands who wanted to be involved in our initiative. In just a week, the guide has been downloaded almost 10 000 times.
Since then, we had the chance to create content for brands we admire like Strava, Komoot, Hutchinson Tires,
Decathlon, Columbia, Julbo, Sea To Summit, Odlo, Abus, or Cyclable.
